Dr. Pekka Janhunen

Dr. Pekka Janhunen has authored over 160 peer-reviewed scientific papers on mainly space plasma physics. For example, he is the original author of “GUMICS” global MHD simulation code for simulating Earth’s magnetosphere and its dynamic coupling with the ionosphere. He is the inventor of the electric solar wind sail interplanetary propulsion method and the inventor of the plasma brake method to deorbit satellites for solving the orbital debris problem. Since 2018 he has done research on space settlements.
