Dr. Jose A. Soto,MD is a Family Medicine specialist working in private practice in Miami, Florida. Dr. Soto graduated from the University of Miami Family Medicine Residency Program and has developed a patent in the use of purified ocean water in medicine. He is a Clinical Instructor working with Ross University School of Medicine. He is a member of the American Medical Association and has conducted medical expeditions to the Himalayas, Everest Base Camp and Mount Kilimanjaro. He has published studies in altitude and methods of training of future astronaut crews to Mars using mountaineering skills and experience. Dr. Soto is also the author of “The Mars Doctor: Medical Affairs Reaching Deep Space” where he has proposed the creation of a new medical specialty: the Space MD.
