William Alba has taught college courses on messaging extraterrestrial intelligence for Bard College and Carnegie Mellon University, where he is now Associate Teaching Professor of Chemistry and Assistant Dean for Diversity in the Mellon College of Science. He serves on advisory boards for METI International, the Society for Social and Conceptual Issues in Astrobiology, and the Arch Mission Foundation. He has presented METI topics for NASA Astrobiology Science Conferences; the International Space Arts Workshop; the Humanities, Arts, Science and Technology Alliance and Collaboratory; and the Allegheny Observatory. His time capsule reached the Moon on the SpaceIL Beresheet mission.
