Instead of hosting the annual keynote in-person event, the International Space Development Conference® (ISDC®), this year the National Space Society (NSS) will present the International Space Development Conference 2021 (ISDC 2021) held virtually on June 24-27, 2021. The four-day virtual conference will focus on key areas of space development: space settlement, space policy, space solar power, Moon, and international space programs, and will include presentations by students from the Space Settlement Design Competition and the NSS Space Settlement Contest.

NASA has a plan––establish a permanent human presence on the Moon within the next decade and then continue the journey on to Mars. Through its theme, Continuing the Journey, ISDC 2021 will highlight the public and private efforts to push the boundaries of space exploration back to the Moon, then Mars.

ISDC 2021 is a virtual event showcasing the technologies, people and organizations that will lead us to develop the final frontier! ISDC 2021 presents the finest minds in this movement to develop space, with experts the latest visions of humanity’s migration into space: where we will go, why we will go there, and how we will do so.

This virtual event will be simulcast on the ISDC 2021 website and will be available across multiple venues through the e360tv streaming TV network and the NSS Facebook page and YouTube channel, on Roku/AppleTV/Amazon Fire and many other mobile systems, and on Space.com’s YouTube channel.

The International Space Development Conference, now in its 40th year, is the premiere event of the National Space Society, bringing together leading managers, engineers, scientists, educators, and business people from the civilian, military, commercial, entrepreneurial, and grassroots advocacy space sectors to work toward a common goal of developing a space-faring civilization. ISDC has been held in various locations across the Western hemisphere and each year attracts over 1000 attendees from over 20 countries. Through the education and development of future generations, the primary goal of ISDC is to enable the expansion of humanity into the solar system and promote the utilization of the vast resources in space to dramatically improve life on Earth.
